Dr. Damaj is a very nice doctor but I don't know what's going on with his office. My experience was
got to a small packed office, almost nowhere to sit
I was on time but waited about 30-40 minutes to be called
waited another 10 minutes after I got to my room.
Dr. Damaj saw me and was very friendly and pleasant
My experience getting prescriptions filled so far has been extremely frustrating. It's now over a month since I've seen the doctor and the order still hasn't been placed. I'm a type 1 diabetic so my medication is pretty essential. I waited a few weeks after my visit to check Optimum RX on my prescriptions but to my surprise there was no order. I called the office first thing in the morning and they said someone would call me back. Around noon I figured I had better call back. I was told the staff was at lunch and they couldn't even take a message, that I should call back a 3rd time. The 3rd time I waited 20 minutes on hold but got someone who said they'd make sure the order went out. The problem at this point was that I was going to run out before the prescription got to me. She said she would leave some samples for me.
The next day I went to the office and the girl said "sorry, we only have one of them but you can have 2." Now if you take 2 different medications and someone says we only have 1 but you can have twice as much that doesn't really work. I'm not in the medical field but I realize that. After some back and forth she found me another brand of my medication.
Fast forward a few more weeks and I figured I had better check my online pharmacy again. I think you can probably figure out where this is going. It's now probably 5 weeks after my visit and nothing has been done. Everyone I talked to was nice enough but they just aren't competent at anything. I wish doctor's would realize how vital their staff is because a great doctor that operates like this is useless. Dr Damaj could be the best doctor in the world but if you can't get them on the phone, can't get prescriptions refilled and have to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor then it doesn't matter.
The prescription problem is a repeating pattern throughout these reviews. Do yourself a favor and avoid the frustration of this office.
Update: OptumRX actually called the doctor asking him to submit the order and they still didn't do it. ALL they have to do at this point is JUST answer the phone and ok the order.
Called Optum RX again who said the doctor still hasn't responded. Called the Dr's office who said they'd make sure it was taken care of. Checked again this morning and STILL nothing has been ordered. I'm now at 6 calls and 2 visits to the office JUST to get a prescription filled.
