| - I found Studio 11 on a trip to Cleveland a couple of years ago when I was practicing yoga very regularly. I was impressed by the profound level of compassion that is palpable in the room there. The teachers are wonderful, and the classes are challenging both physically and mentally, but to a seasoned practitioner, they weren't particularly difficult.
Perhaps what was most impressive to me was that after having only been there a couple of times, I returned after a year while I was in town again. The teacher greeted me BY NAME, and welcomed me. I felt like I was part of the community, even though I can only make it there occasionally.
Also, last summer I went to a Saturday morning class when they had live drumming and chanting, and it was breathtaking. Well, not really, since yoga relies so much on breath. But it was magical. I got actual chills, as I sensed these full, vibrant, life-giving sounds wafting out of the little flat iron building into Tremont. I'm not being cheesy. It was that awesome.
