  • I will start off by saying that the Sunday crew and the Monday crew are two completely different kinds of people. I came in on Sunday because I had some extreme pain in my abdomen and testicle. After five hours at the hospital and receiving what I considered some pretty good care I was sent home with a prescription of Motrin to take care of my level 8-9 pain. I do not take painkillers ever aside from when I broke my arm and I assume the doctor knew best so I didn't say anything when given such a basic pain killer/anti-inflammatory. It did nothing for the pain. I'm not some pill popper that goes into hospitals looking for drugs so I don't know why I was prescribed Flintstones pain killers. I'm anti-pills and I never go to a doctor unless I'm damn near dying. I guess that's probably not documented in their system though lol (you'll get a laugh out of that one as you read on) I was asked to return to the hospital if the pain continued within 24 to 48 hours. A little less than 24 hours later I was in so much pain I absolutely could not take it anymore. I couldn't sit, stand, or lay in any position for more than 20 minutes without having to move around and adjust in hopes to have a little less pain. I had to rush myself down to the hospital as I was at the peak of what I could handle pain wise. I was hurting so bad that I left my car in the ambulance area and came walking in hunched over. I have to take a quarter of the step that I normally take and move very slow because it hurt so bad. On Sunday when I came in they were extremely quick about getting me in the back. Their main concern was clearly helping me out to be sure my pain was alleviated as soon as possible. I wish that was the case today. It was actually the opposite. I'm talking complete night and day from both experiences. The counter lady was not nice at all. She also showed literally zero sympathy toward my pain. It was as if I came in with the common cold. Then when I was sent to the second screening area I was asked a bunch of pointless questions that I was already asked yesterday. Do you smoke? Do you drink? I was irate! I asked the guy "isn't this in the computer? I was just here yesterday!". I explained that I'm in serious pain (more than yesterday) and that I need some help as soon as possible. I let him know that It felt like something was going to explode in my stomach or scrotum. Once he finally got me back there I waited for over an hour before I finally just left without treatment. Three or four nurses came in and asked me some absurd questions however still could not provide me with any help. Apparently a doctor needs to see me before they can give me any form of pain relief or anti-inflammatory. I could understand if I wasn't just in there yesterday but come on. Get a damn doctor over here to approve some pain medicine. What's so hard about that?! No examination is even necessary. You have my chart (or should at least) you see I was in here yesterday. That's just ridiculous to wait in an emergency room for an hour and still not see a doctor. The nurses were literally asking me what I came to the doctor for the day before while they were looking at a computer screen. I told them I'm not a doctor! I'm not sure what it's called but I would hope that it's in the computer. And if it's not in the computer I'm a little bit worried about seeking treatment here. They kept trying to assure me that a doctor would come see me soon. I don't understand how if I was there the day before and I was instructed to come back if I was in serious pain why they weren't able just to give me some form of a painkiller. I'm not asking for a prescription! Give me two days of actual pain relief. Motrin is not cutting it. I told the nurses multiple times that I could not wait any longer and I was going to have to seek help somewhere else if they couldn't help me out anytime soon. I kept waiting it out and squirming around in pain before I finally couldn't take it any longer. I told them I was leaving and tried my best to be sure that I wasn't going to be charged for that visit with zero treatment. They couldn't even provide me with a paper to verify that and at this point I was done with this visit. I left the hospital without any treatment. People should not be treated like this. I understand that there may be other people in the hospital that were in a more severe pain than I am but this is an emergency room! I was just there! How do you not provide treatment for someone that is in so much pain? It wasn't like I had a cut finger or that I was barely any pain. People in there clearly knew I was hurting big-time. I will never return to this hospital again even though the weekend crew was actually really good. I won't take my chances when it comes to pain and needing quality treatment. If you're reading this before you go to the hospital then you should probably take my advice and do the same. Very disappointed in that facility.
