| - I go to this place due to its near by location. It's an all you AYCE Sushi place. Now you would expect low quality from somewhere like this, but it is actually pretty decent in some respects. However, it is also lacking in areas.
Pros: The price was the norm for this type of establishment. The food is good. I'm not a big time roll eater as I'd rather eat nigiri over some American take on sushi. The nigiri was of decent quality, not outstanding, but hey, it is the desert after all. The appetizers are great! Yes you can make a meal out of the appetizers. The sauce on the surf and turf was outstanding. The tempura dipping sauce was also great.
Cons: First of all, this place has gotten very busy. I used to be able to walk right in, now it can be up to a 45 minute wait. Once you get in you get the feel that this place is understaffed. (Update!!! Staff seems to have increased, speed of orders has improved....some. Still a packed house.) The servers come around, yet your order does not. I came with a group of 7 big time eaters and we put in big orders at a time. Not only did our orders take forever to come out, but it felt like the manager was watching us to see if we were really eating all that food. It got to a point that they stopped taking our order. It says all you can eat on the door buddy. (Update: Management does not do that to us anymore, are they reading this? Great job if they are!) They didn't even bring out our oysters and claimed that they did and we could not have any more. I had to explain to the manager that we are not asking for more, we never got any to begin with. They figured out that our oysters were taken to the wrong table. Lucky them. We ended up paying the bill and leaving having not received everything we ordered. They couldn't even take the time to fill a drink.
UPDATE: The last few times we went we got better service, the rotation of fish is fast, so the flavor has improved. Still not the fastest, and still a wait to get in, but it's a slamming busy place now. I have found one big dislike that is totally not the restaurant's fault. Every time I go there now, there always seems to be the loudest, most obnoxious, cussing, group of trendy punks sitting right next to me. It's like man, if you've got all this money that you seem to need to yell about so everyone can hear you, why are you at an AYCE sushi place. Go eat at some rich place where everyone else is yelling about their car and their money. I don't want to hear you, I want to hear the person sitting next to me.
