  • Food here is OK. Service was good, and we were put in a separate and private side-room for our party of 12 (and a fixed % gratuity was also not tacked on) which was nice. But the food was underwhelming. I came in with somewhat high expectations so maybe that's what messed me up. We came for brunch and shared the pastry platter (sticky bun, cinnamon scone, cheese danish, and pain au chocolat). I ordered the chicken and waffles and my wife ordered the sausage hash. The cheese danish is pretty incredible - for some reason it reminded me of the cheese rolls at Portos with a hint of orange and lime (or some kind of citrus). The bite that I had was probably the highlight of the experience. The pain au chocolat was OK - I've had pain au chocolat in Paris, so kind of hard to beat that. The chicken and waffles were good but after several bites, it was a bit much and started getting heavy (I could only finish half of it). The chicken was cooked perfectly and was tender and moist. The waffles (bacon and chive) were good but I think this is what made it somewhat overwhelming... oh and maybe the gravy for the chicken. The biggest disappointment and oddity was the sausage hash. I don't know what kind of sausage it was but it wasn't very good - it had a weird flavor. It looked like cubed Hilshire farms sausage but tasted gamey and lacked seasoning. Considering this was supposed to be a hash, the ratio of sausage to potatoes was way off - way too much weird-tasting sausage, to the point that my wife had to request more potatoes since there were barely any in the dish to call it a "hash". My wife and our friend both ordered this and only finished half. I would have expected them to finish all of it had it tasted much better. The other disappointment on this note was the fact that our waiter actually advertised prime rib hash but then came back a minute later after it was ordered saying they had just run out. Keep in mind, it's 11am at this point in time. I guess that's what everyone else and their mother's ordered. But you'd think they'd prepare more of it in anticipation that most patrons would want to order that... Anyway, it was nice to try but we probably won't be back.
