  • Wanted to rent a property in Gilbert, and our experience with Brandon was so terrible that we could not go through with it. As a potential tenant having to pay $80 extra per month to have to deal with a third party, I would have expected a bit of professionalism. I had told Brandon about my pets (agricultural property) which he said would be ok, yet he did not write them into the leasing contract, which he sent me less than 24 hours before the scheduled move-in date, and told me to sign and send back ASAP so we could move in the next morning. Part of the contract says that to make any amendment to the lease will cost $100. Then on move-in day we had to go back and forth with the amendments through email. He couldn't do the walk-through until 2 days later, and said I still would be charged rent for the two days, even though those were days he was not available to do the walk-through. I told him I was getting uncomfortable with the was things were going and he got extremely rude and offensive before finally agreeing to only charge me for one of the extra days. The way he was talking made me think that he must deal with a lot of angry clients. I felt like I was being hustled. He insisted I sign and pay before we did a walk-through, even though the leasing contract states that tenant agrees that everything is in working order. There was no way I could sign that because I had never confirmed. Also he wanted me to sign a holding agreement (I was to move in 3 days later) that had a $2000 non-refundable holding deposit for them to hold the property until move-in.. three days later... I had my real estate agent and her partner look over the contract and they said they had never seen any contract so extreme and one-sided, and they didn't know how it was legal to charge a $2000 holding deposit for 3 days, when a security deposit for the whole lease can't be more than 1.5x the rent. My lawyer also advised me not to sign. Brandon was extremely rude, confrontational and pushy, and I hadn't even moved in. I could not imagine his tone once I was under contract and living on the property, let alone moving out. I loved the property and the owner and I were in agreement on the terms of living on the property, however, the leasing contract and Brandon's salesman attitude made me willing to pay much more for a different property with friendly customer service. My advice is to avoid at all costs!!
