Located across from ASU, this hotel has plenty to offer (normally) to visitors. There are two restaurants connected to the property, The Normal Diner and Tapacubo, serving traditional and Mexican-style food respectively. However, we stayed while renovations were occurring, so the diner was closed. Additionally, Tapacubo started closing after lunch while we were there, meaning there were no longer evening food options easily accessible.
Additionally, the only time I had my room serviced while on a week-long stay, housekeeping did not restock any paper products, did not provide any refilled or new cleansing products, and just tossed some unfolded towels into the towel bin beneath the sink. I understand being busy (if that's the reason), but doing things half way is rather unusual and unexpected. Maybe if I'd had room service each day it would have been better, but I was trying to make a green choice and only use the service once.
This hotel charges for parking, but I'm not sure how often they check those parking in their lot. On several occasions I watched people park in the lot, leave the car without a parking tag, and go across the street to ASU.
All that said, this hotel is nice, close to campus, and within walking distance (~1 mile) to a nice downtown area.
**Update:
I wrote this review before going through the checkout process. I would like to mention that the front desk was very inefficient this morning. When checking in, we provided a proper credit card for the room charges, since our company does not pay for the room up front.
When checking out, the front desk associate said we were "all good." While waiting for the cab to the airport, not even 10 minutes later, the front desk associate calls my company point of contact and mentions me by name and says I never paid my charges. I turned around and immediately made eye contact, she stuttered to the point of contact, and realized that she had literally just told me I was all good then tried to throw me under the bus.
This was a horrific start to the travel day, especially when the hotel has informed you you're all set already. The front desk needs additional training on efficiency and customer service.
