| - It's probably for the best that this Arsenal location is out of my way, because I ADORE it. Honestly, Arsenal Cider is one of my favorite local businesses. While their original Lawrenceville location has tons of historical charm (in both the building and the neighborhood), this spot has the appeal of being part of Soergel Orchards. The cider house is a perfect addition to the beautiful market and shopping spot - and not just because the cider is made from Soergel apples!
This location is located in one of Soergel's "old timey" buildings - "old timey" meaning it's totally comfortable and feels modern and has air conditioning, but it's modeled after an old school log building. It's a nice balance that's perfect for Arsenal and for a Soergel cider house.
Walk in and you'll immediately see the bar; to the left of the bar is a cozy communal area with several sets of tables and chairs, suitable for enjoying a drink or even a show when one is put on. The decor is Revolutionary themed, tying directly into the history behind the naming of Arsenal (which ties into the history of its Lawrenceville location).
My advice, especially for first timers? Don't be afraid to ask for samples during a visit, as Arsenal's batches of brews rotate throughout the year and are worth exploring. Also don't be afraid to ask questions - in my experience the people who work at Arsenal have always been enthusiastic and eager to share their knowledge with guests. And since their ciders run the full range from sickly sweet to dry dry dry, their input may be the ticket to finding your perfect cider!
Whether you just need a growler refilled during a day of shopping, or you're interested in relaxing and sharing a drink, this is a great space that is well worth your time. Here's to my next visit, Arsenal!
