So after a long morning of studying I decided to venture out to grab a salad and a glass of vino... yes wine for lunch... gotta problem with that.
Any who - trekked across town to Crisp. I love my exploring... I love all the new neighborhoods I get to travel too.
So I make it to Elizabeth and there on the corner sits Crisp. I love how inviting it is from the street. Outside seating and other goodies next store. You're able to enjoy your lunch and then walk about.
I ordered the steak salad... medium rare, extra grilled red onions, grilled mushrooms, romaine lettuce and another green mix, tomatoes and holy jersey cow... I should have watched the cheese being thrown down! Since cheesethere was nothing fried on my plate, they make up in the drowning of bleu cheese!!! For sure next time I will ask for my cheese on the side as always with my dressing.
I truly loved my salad. The steak was cooked to perfection (med/rare as asked) and seasoned delightfully. I would have finished my salad except for the block of bleu cheese I left behind. I balsamic was really lovely. I use the fork dip then stab lettuce technique, so it's really refreshing to have salad dressing explode with flavor on your palate.
The overall ambiance is quite lovely. I liked the small bar and it's selection. I forget the chardonnay I had, but it was quite buttery with hints of sweet berry. I also loved they have individual pepper-mills on each table... freshly ground pepper really makes any meal - too bad they didn't offer a salt-mill as well.... but 1 out of 2 is superb.
Oh... you can use the wi-fi from Starbucks... hehehe I sneaked on to it.
I plan on coming back and will bring the parental units should they behave.
Thanks Crisp for a lovely salad and the lovely service! Everyone was so kind and helpful to this lost Cali gal.
And yes, they accept AMEX!!!! I will get my rewards soon enough for that trip I want damn it!!!!
