| - I recently moved to a new part of town and needed a bikini wax. I've followed my usual waxer around town for about 12 years, but I finally decided I needed someone closer. Nothing like diving in to a brand new place and new waxer with a bikini wax!
The only reason I'm not giving EWC 5 stars is because the woman who greeted me talked so fast that I had to ask her 3 different times to repeat herself. Sheesh. She also didn't explain a lot of the questions she was asking. When she asked for my license, I skeptically handed it over... a few minutes later, she told me that my wax was half off since it was my first time and I was local. Would've been nice to know from the get-go!
The waiting room was small but clean, and Kylie came to get me about 5 minutes after I sat down. She was so nice and normal and talked to me during the whole wax, which I appreciated to lessen the awkwardness. EWC uses a type of wax that goes on hot, then hardens as it cools, so there are no paper strips (which is what I've always had). I was a little skeptical at first, but it was fantastic - way less painful than hot wax slathered on your skin and then papers rubbed on! It took maybe 15-20 minutes to do the whole thing, and I never felt uncomfortable. Kylie said she'd been an aesthetician for 12 years, and I completely trusted her.
When it comes to waxing, it's realllly hard to find 1) a good waxer who's 2) normal and comfortable 3) at a salon 4) with a website that lists all their services/prices and 5) accepts bookings online and 6) takes credit cards. This might be the holy grail of waxing!
