| - Well I had went to Peoria nissan two weeks ago in search of a nice extended cab truck. It was my father and I who had been looking around and yes, yet another new, inexperienced salesman had come to our aid. He was nice tho, ex veteran of the Navy so obviously my dad had great initial respect for him.
They sat me down and had me fill out a form stating what I was looking for and how much I was wiling to spend, and my phone number (big mistake)
I took a truck for a test drive that they insisted me I do, and we went along the 101 and I really did like it, however I was in no position to purchase a vehicle at that point, just looking around and weighing my options. After we came back a sales manager came up to assist his new salesman and he was much nicer and apt, seemed to understand and willing to work with my financial situation. That was great but still I was in no position to buy and just weighing my options and I made that clear to them several times
The following day I get a call from the new salesman, sounding very eager to make some sort of deal. The day after that he calls again, so luckily i had just bought a new phone which has a option to switch certain contacts calls' directly to voicemail.
Then the next week I go shopping around for trucks once again and come back to Peoria Nissan as my final destination of dealerships. They were very helpful, and thankfully the salesman i talked to and the one that kept badgering was not in. So the sales manager delegated a more experienced salesman to me at which point we took another truck for a test drive. I asked him how much would this be out the door, explaining i just wanted an out the door price and thats all. then they proceeded to sell me this truck that day. I said ok but i simply do not have the money, i can make a down payment but nothing to verify income until a couple weeks from now, they said it was no big deal.
So three hours later i drive away with the truck no problems, paperwork signed, dated and stamped. It was three days before i got a call from the finance manager saying he needed the rest of the money, at that point I was infuriated, I was upfront with them from the get-go that i was not in a financial position to purchase a vehicle, but just simply shopping around.
They were just hearing what they wanted to hear, so after putting about 50 miles on that new truck i walked back in there and threw the keys down on the table and said, now wheres my down payment check?!? They gave me the check back and took the truck back, no questions asked.
Not a very sound dealership in my opinion, I would NOT suggest this place to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle, Midway Nissan was a much better experience.
