  • I came here upon looking up top restaurants in pgh. First I will say the location is great as it is in a relatively quiet area right across from Frick Park. Outdoor seating is also pretty nice although today it was too hot to be outside. Nonetheless, upon entering I requested outdoor seating and was then seated outside. The hostess didn't really smile or seem too friendly but she did grant me an outdoor seat. Initially I had to wait a bit for water and then kept waiting for someone to wait on me. One of the waiters then came out to stack plates on the other tables. Feeling hot, I requested to sit inside just before he obliged and led me to an indoor seat. Shortly after I was greeted by whom I think might have been a manager but not sure. He was far more accommodating and immediately took my order, which was the Haydari appetizer and for my entree the Lamb mixed grill. The appetizer was pretty decent but the mixed grill really didn't stand out or wow me in anyway. The rice, while not terrible was not super great. I will say the marinade used for the lamb was pretty decent. I got filled up real quick and ended up packing most of it. Being that I always leave room for dessert, I ordered the Revani, which I felt was a very large portion but was too sweet. The person who served me, who again seemed like he was a manager, was a genuinely nice guy and went out of his way to serve me including packing up all of my food all the while being friendly and engaging in small talk. Unfortunately, the meal just didn't do it for me especially for a price of $35 although the portions were large. Even after having left overs I just feel really bloated and not really blown away by the food. If I had to offer advice I would say the rice could be dryer and fluffier, and the dessert much less sweet. I feel doing that would make a significant difference. Actual rating for me is 3.5 stars because of the manager's demeanor and diligent service.
