It is evident to me now that any negative reviews Gemma's has received are unwarranted.
I recently stumbled upon Gemma's on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Although I'm clearly not the target demographic - Gemma's very apparently primarily pursues the certainly more lucrative wedding market (compared to my infrequent men's pants alterations) - I was treated fairly, received expedient service, was impressed with the storefront, and was given an excellently crafted product.
I'm a fairly normal size, so I don't frequently get my clothes altered. Approximately twice a year (give or take), I'll need different suit-pants taken in or out a little. Given my lack of experience, I often wonder aimlessly for alterations and invariably end up getting it done at one of our local cleaners. Inevitably, I'm left with adequate work and nearly no customer service for a relatively high price. Gemma's storefront is infinitely more appealing than any of these cleaners, I received quicker service, and I paid about half at Gemma's what I usually do at any of these cleaners.
I've already recommended it to female friends who are likely to need wedding alterations in the near future!
