| - So coming from Southern California, my opinion is that the rent rates are phenomenal. My family and I have the biggest apartment available, 3 bedroom, 2 bath with attached 2 car garage. No stairs, just straight up walk up to the apt, which is perfect for our growing family. I believe there are only 6 of this kind on the entire property. We've been here for about a year now and will unfortunately not be renewing our lease because we bought a house, but as far as everything else is concerned, we have had no problems with our apartment, the staff, maintenance, the grounds, or anything else except the things that we cannot help, like the neighbors. Thus why I am giving this place 4 stars.
The staff has always been great and accommodating. Maintenance is very friendly and on top of things, I would never have to wait more than a day or two when I had an issue (which were always minor like a light bulb being out or a clogged garbage disposal.) It took a while for the kids' playground to be put in a finalized, but I think it's an amazing addition, my kids love it and it has a two great grills right next to it with a picnic table (that we have used) and despite the construction next door for the new homes, it's still great view.
Now as far as the -1 star for the neighbors. In the year we have been here, we have had 2 different tenants below us and 3 different ones above us. All of which have been smokers and have spent HOURS day and night smoking on their balconies. There doesn't seem to be a policy against smoking on your balcony (different places we have lived before had very stern policies about NOT doing it) because a lot of people seem to smoke on their balconies all the time, and I think there should be. Granted, during the hotter months, we don't open our windows, but all the other times throughout the year when we would like some fresh air, it is absolutely certain that we will encounter the nasty smell of cigarette smoke every hour- it's that ridiculous. And there has not been a time when driving through the parking lot that I haven't seen people smoking on their balconies all around the property except for some nights when it's probably because I can't see them. Many people allow their kids to play in the parking lot unsupervised and it's kind of annoying because a lot of the times they're in the way with no adults in sight. Also, there's enough younger people that live here that are loud and annoying, but that comes with any apartment you live in.
I suppose that's not completely a deal breaker since this place is very very nice. Maybe it's a little pricey for those of you from the area and not use to the higher rates, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I would hate to imagine what a place with cheaper rent might attract as far as neighbors may go since many people disregard this place because it's "pricey" but then again, I won't ever have to know.
