  • Amateurs running a store that's worse than Sports Authority. That's a hard accomplishment. My fourth time in a Dicks. Not my favorite, but my fly rod broke in the middle of nowhere while bringing in a nice smallmouth. I thought I could get a cheaper fly rod combo that I could keep in the car. Landed the fish, but it was a great fishing area so I drove the 40 minutes to get a cheap easy backup rod or combo to keep fishing for the day. This location of dicks did not carry ONE fly fishing item. Not a cheap set of flies, not a peg of leaders, and certainly not a rod, reel or even beginner combo of the two. This event is on top of the time I needed a quick avalanche beacon while in Utah - where avalanches happen frequently- and was told they never carried them. The time before that, I needed a yoga mat while on vacation- in Sedona where plenty of yoga is happening at any one time- none in stock- not just the wrong color or style; none! And the first time was when I was looking for a pair of spring skiing gloves when I left mine back home. No lightweight gloves. Not just my size- they didn't carry them at all. WTF? None. 0 out of 4 times is the record and I'm done. I have been disappointed 100% of the times that I have visited Dicks. And today it cost $200 when I had to go to a fly shop to buy a backup rod. I have no doubt that if I were looking for a shirt to work out in, they wouldn't have my size, nor would they ever have carried it. Never again, Dicks, and I'll tell everyone about all my times there. Your entire company should perish.
