| - as for a place to work....poor. First contact with them, they provided an interview time and date, but no address. When they corrected their mistake, and rescheduled the interview, the date and location was sent the day prior to the interview. Upon arrival, no hiring manager was there. Another girl had arrived for her interview too. She was also wondering where the hiring manager was.
This incident happened to my son, today. He called me to vent, so I checked his email to double check the address and discovered that the company sent him yet another email written just 2 hours prior to him leaving for his interview. He was in the shower during this time, and it is an hour drive to the interview location. Moreover, email can be delayed, especially when a company uses a personalized domain server by a 3rd party internet provider. To send a last minute change in interview location is unprofessional for a business...it makes the business appear sketchy. A phone message on our VM left around the same time that the email was sent states to check his email for the appointment time, date and location, but says nothing about a CHANGE in the location of the interview at all. Hence, even if my son got the VM on time, it refers to the original email my son received the previous day to the rescheduled interview, and not about a new email about an address correction. He proceeded to call the company from the original location he was sent to, but they would not answer their phones. So instead of wasting more gas to go to the new location excessively late, he just came back home.
When I left a review on their FB about this, they responded promptly, stating they were sorry for the confusion, but they are in the process of rebuilding after a 91 yr old man drove into their building, involving over a dozen of their employees and pinning one. She made it sound like the accident happened today, as I could see an accident preventing them from making it to the location of my son's interview. So I checked news reports for today (May 12) and found nothing. I then called both Gilbert PD (where their office is located) and Mesa PD to see if their address had any calls to their location today, and I was told there was none. Upon further research, I found that a vehicle indeed drove into their building.....two weeks ago.
I suppose this accident resulted in a latent traumatic response to their hiring manager in that she is unable to interview people when scheduled, but she is still working the ropes by scheduling them anyway. This includes providing them with interview times and dates without a location, providing them a time and date with the wrong location or just not showing up, and calling and emailing at the last minute to change the location, instead of simply stating that she has to cancel for personal reasons and will recontact at a later time.
When a company is this disorganized, you know your employment experience with them will be a chaotic one when the person in charge does not know how to take accountability for committing themselves to being where they say they are going to be and expecting everyone else to react in crisis mode due to their piss-poor planning. With a company and hiring manager this irresponsible, you are better off looking for a better opportunity. Besides, after reading the first review before posting this, this company would not have been a good fit for my son's goals, anyway.
UPDATE:
Following my FB review, a current or former contracted employee by the name of Charmaine White from this company began to harass me under my post, call my son and me by derogatory and racist remarks. Of course, no one who simply purchased their wax product is going to go out of their way to protect the company over a wax product that is marketed and sold by a company who has no involvement with making the product. Amanda, the owner of Talent, had already addressed the matter from the day in question the best she could, and I found it to be acceptable. And although the day in question was not handled professionally, she did thank me for bringing the issue to her attention, and her behavior was far from the ghetto mentality of this Charmaine person.
