  • I have lived in AZ for almost 8 years and have been to probably as many hair stylists. I just haven't found one that I'm in love with. I found Altered Ego on Yelp last week when searching for a salon near my house since I had very little time and desperately needed a chop before working 4 long days at Phoenix Comicon. I called and lucked out that they had an appointment available the same afternoon. I was happy since I have called on previous occasions and they were booked solid. Matthew was my stylist. He was extremely chatty and bubbly and had a good attitude. He listened to my concerns about my last cut. I was pleased with the results even though he took off a little more than I am used to, about 8 inches overall. I had to learn some new styling techniques, but I think I have got it down. I felt confident that my hair looked good while talking to hundreds (thousands?) of people all weekend. I liked the atmosphere of the salon, and the staff was all very friendly and approachable, especially the girl that washed my hair, her name escapes me. They also gave me a welcome package with coupons for future visits so that was nice. I think I will go back. :)
