  • This is one of my favorite spots in charlotte- the food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is laid back with a friendly, neighborhood vibe. The menu is fairly small but has a little bit of everything: classic bar appetizers, pasta dishes, burgers and sandwiches. They also have a decent selection of local beers on draft. I usually always get one of the pasta dishes like the honey chicken or the what it is. Last night I opted for the penne Athena and it was delicious! The cream sauce was flavorful but still very light and the veggies were fresh and delicious. As a starter I highly recommend the crab soup- it's so good, I could honestly make a meal out of just that! Another thing I really love about Al Mike's is that all of their chicken is natural and raised without antibiotics which is a surprising touch for a tavern-style restaurant, but it is very much appreciated!
