| - Dropped off one of our cars here because the a/c was not working. Dropped it off Saturday around 11am for a Free A/C inspection as they advertise. Turns out that was not free as it states inside & outside of building. The diagnosis charge wasnt bad & we need ac so we decided to go ahead with the diagnosis. Got a call around 1pm saying what was wrong and that it would be $280 to repair the issue & have ac up & running. Got a call around 5:30pm saying car was ready to pick up. We got there around 5:5pm, paid $300.44 (repair PLUS tax), husband got in the car...air was blowing out HOT. He went back in & was told...sorry, nothing we can do until Monday! Ummmm...no. While on my way back to pick up my husband I told him to drive the car around to make sure it wasn't an issue of it just being to hot outside and the ac needing time to cool off. That didn't have any effect, car still hot. I returned in the office and their manager Mike was called (via phone) when I told the receptionist I wanted a refund since repairs done did not rectify the problem. I told Mike we had no problem either leaving the car or taking it and returning it when we had time next week so we both had cars to her to/from work. He began literally yelling at me on the phone and his story changed to: Well this was just the first step, NOW it could be something else like the compressor or the condenser. So a $30 ac diagnosis turned into a $300.44 ac diagnosis. I explained to him I work for an ac company and we don't send techs to peoples homes, tell them it's going to cost X amount of dollars to get their ac running then leave them with the ac blowing hot and charge them afterwards cause...well we got the ac running. After receiving a headache from his yelling I told him I would not go around in circles with him and asked for the general manager. The receptionist did some back & forth calling from her cell until she finally reached. He came, barely spoke 10 words...didnt ask what happened, I had to initiate a conversation w/ him. I explained what happened, told him we were told car was fixed and to come pick it up although it wasn't fixed. He said "you were told to pick it up?" I said yes! He said for now he'd refund the amount and we decided to leave the car. He said the last thing the wanted was an unhappy customer and if need be they would remove the parts, refund the parts cost and see what they could do about the labor cost IF they still could not fix it. By the way...he said they would retuen the used parts they removed from the car to their warehouse so hopefully they aren't reusing semi-used parts they are pulling from customers vehicles. Fast forward to Monday...husband has to take mw to woek since we're down to 1 car over this. He gets a call from Steve around 11am saying...car is good to go, ac temp is blowing out 60 degrees...their unsure what we were talking about Saturday about it blowing warm. He said it was possible the compressor or condenser was going out but neither were needed at this exact moment. He told him for now, get a sun visor and that would help keep some of the heat out so ac can cool the car down quicker. I call an Uber to go pick up the car on my lunch. I pay...again. As I'm standing outside waiting for the car to be pulled around I can see Steve sitting in the car just running it. In hindsight, I'm assuming that was to get ac runnning cool. He pulls the car up, tells me to put my hand over the vent to feel the 60 degree air coming out & he has no idea what we were talking about the ac blowing hot and that it's been blowing out 60 degrees and that he suggest we get a sun visor to keep the heat out and to run the back windows down when 1st turning on the car and ac so help pull some heat out of the car and to keep the vents fully opened (duh!). I said yup, ok... He said it's possible the condenser or compressor were going but we should be good through the summer...basically he told me the same thing he told my husband over the phone. I drive off and I kidd you not, before I even left the parking lot, the ac was blowing HOT! I said...no way, I'm gling to drive the couple blocks home and see if it changes. I got home, still blowing hot, it was literally cooler with the windows down. I was done fighting with these people and wasn't going to take the car back today but I said no...they have to see this. So I drive back, have Steve come out and have HIM put HIS hand over the vent so he can feel the 100 degree air coming out! I told him it was doing this before I even left the paeking lot. He said "oh wow...yea...it is blowing hot!" He said hold on one second. He pops the hood, feels the pipes and says, yes, this pipe is hot, there's a restriction in the line. Wow...ANOTHER issue dianosed in 2 seconds! He tells me he'll have to order a expansion valve now and will get me a price and see what they can do about the labor cost to replace it. I asked for the GM to call me...haven't heard from anyone.
