  • I am never coming here again. I don't care if they offer me free oil changes for life with bubbling crude straight out of Jed Clampett's oil well. I think the staff at this place were trained by Bernie Madoff or something because I got a full-on professional fleece job at this place. I needed an oil change before I headed out to DC, so I took my car here because I've had good experiences with the NTB in Westlake. I checked in, and the manager practically raced outside to do an inspection. He couldn't wait to tell me that I needed two new tires and that the ones on which I am currently driving are dangerous. He clung to this lie even after I told him that the tires were top quality and purchased three years ago. My car went onto the rack for the oil change, and after noticing that there was no free coffee left (a minor jab, I know, but annoying nonetheless--how hard is it to brew coffee? With all of the people they're undoubtedly fleecing, they can surely afford a Keurig.), I settled down to get some grading done. Shortly thereafter an NTB employee appeared with grand proclamations about my rear brakes. He told me that I needed new rear brakes, that there was "less than 5% left", and that I also needed a joint or something replaced on the back of my car because it was "swollen." He then presented me with a price quote that seemed excessively high. Despite not being much of a mechanic, I know the warning signs for needing new brakes, and I hadn't heard any squeaking or anything that indicated that my brakes were on their way out. Admittedly, my brakes did begin to exhibit signs of needing repair about one month later--but that was after I drove to and from Washington, DC and drove regularly every day without a problem. I got my brakes fixed today for $150.00, which was MUCH less than the price quoted by NTB, and there was no mention of a "swollen" joint or of a need to replace my tires. If you must go here, I would strongly advise you to ask another reputable mechanic for a second opinion before you purchase any of their additional suggested services from here. Why go through that, though? Don't go here at all.
