Found an SUV I liked this morning on Autotrader.com, had my husband call about it, asked if they would have it inspected by one of our mechanics nearby. The sales guy said he would talk to the lead technician about it, run our credit in the meanwhile and get back to us.
We waited until the end of the day to hear back about setting up a pre-sale inspection, no call. We decided to call the guy back.
He let us know the car was going to be taken off the website shortly because there were too many things wrong with it to offer it for sale right now. It didn't even pass their own inspection, let alone the pre-sale inspection we expected to conduct.
The CarFax report for this vehicle indicated all service and repairs on this car were done by Midway Nissan for the past 10 years, so they would know everything that was wrong with this vehicle before they posted it to Autotrader. SCAM!
NOTE: Asking for a pre-inspection on any used car purchase is a hassle, but worth it!! Don't trust anyone with a used car - dealership or private sale.
