  • We had an absolutely awesome day at the Whitewater Center this past weekend. The Center is top notch, organized, well-run by enthusiastic young employees and really fun. My husband and I arrived around 9:30am (opening time) without a raft reservation. You can reserve ahead of time, for $5. If coming on a beautiful weekend day again, I would probably reserve ahead of time but it ended up not being a problem. We went with the storage tub for the two of us ($10 for all day). Definitely worth the money for a couple, especially if you are doing multiple activities (water and land). Our rafting wasn't until 11:15 and we hadn't been before, so we spent about an hour wandering around, getting familiar with the layout and possible activities. We also attended the ropes course / zip line orientation before we rafted to save time when we were ready to do that activity. The rafting was really well run - a good Orientation, we were outfitted and pointed to our boat. I was nervous about the rafting, especially the second section, primarily class III with a IV at the end. But the guides are so good and if you have even a basic athletic ability and some prior padding experience, you should be able to stay in the boat and have a blast. After rafting, we enjoyed lunch (with some craft beer) in the Biergarten. The food was good and came out fast. We actually didn't have great fries but when I took them back, they replaced them with no issue. That matters to me - how something is corrected and they handled it well. I thought the food and beverage prices were reasonable although not inexpensive. After lunch, we did an intermediate ropes course that ended with a short zipline. I honestly enjoyed the ropes course as much as the rafting. There is a really big zip line that goes over most of the Center grounds. If you want to do that, you might want to schedule rafting about two hours after you arrive and try to hit that zipline first thing. The lines apparently get really long. We also enjoyed watching the climbers free climb over the pools. Some of them were really really good! There is also music at night on Thursday's and Saturdays. We weren't able to stay late enough to see the live show but I'm sure it's great fun. Can't wait to go back!!
