  • Well, this is the precise reason big banks have such a bad reputation. I went in to open a savings acct. Just a place to plant some money and take advantage of the $200 bonus they were giving. The banker was pleasant, but (and this is big for me) she did not follow up how she promised to. I decided to open a checking recently for an additional bonus. Again, the banker was pleasant enough but NO follow up there either. However, he did introduce me to his manager, which was nice. Okay, so maybe 3 stars so far. Then I went in to conduct a simple transaction with a teller. I was not greeted upon entering (which at a bank is a security issue, as the biggest deterrent to a robbery is being acknowledged by staff). I stood in line and although a couple of the tellers looked up, did not acknowledge me being there even though they were not all with clients. I was finally called over. The girl didn't say hello or engage in conversation of ANY kind. It was awkward. They even needed an override for my transaction. The supervisor didn't acknowledge me either. I was pleasant and tried to start a bit of conversation but I was clearly an inconvenience. My name was not used, I was not thanked - heck I wasn't even asked to open a home equity line of credit! I dread having to go back there.
