When in Montreal this past weekend, my friends and I actually came to this restaurant twice - once for dinner and then back for Sunday brunch. Our dinner here on Friday night was one of my favorite meals while in Montreal. This place has really great atmosphere - the décor is on the traditional side, but the music was current and a little louder which gave it a fun almost bar vibe which was great for a Friday night dinner with friends - might be a little loud if you were looking for a romantic dinner spot for two.
We decided on the a la carte menu even though it was taste of Montreal week. A friend and I split the mussels to start and a pasta dish recommended by our server. Both were delicious and it was plenty food for two. I also sampled the caprese salad and Mediterranean salad which my other friends ordered and both were really good! Also, this restaurant has some very reasonably priced wine, so it is a great place to have a few glasses of wine and get the night started.
Our brunch here on Sunday was good, but I definitely preferred this restaurant for dinner. It opens at 10:30 for brunch on Sunday which is nice as most restaurants on Crescent didn't seem to open until 11 or 11:30. I ended up ordering the mushroom and peppers pizza which was pretty good - I personally prefer my pizza crust a little thinner, but it had a great homemade taste and wasn't greasy at all. I was really envious of a friend's order of the eggs benny, so if I am ever back for brunch this is what I will order. Service was also a little slow for brunch, but this could be because we were there pretty early and it wasn't that busy yet so not many people seemed to be working.
Overall though, both of my experiences here were really good and this restaurant is definitely on my list to come back to when in Montreal again!!
