The 'original' part of downtown Las Vegas, long before the lights and skyscrapers of the Strip existed. It's fun if you've been to the strip many times and want the old school experience with the original casinos, original restaurants, old timers, and to see the history of where Sin City began. It's not super exciting, so spend a few hours here.
The food around here (ie: Carson Kitchen or various $8 prime rib casino deals) is great, and not overpriced or low quality like the Strip. Entertainment wise, eh.. it's best to stick to the Strip, minus the nightly light up show which is a great fun tourist one time thing to do. That's your reason to come.
