  • I'm giving LV of Charlotte 4 stars: I would give their associate, Cody, 5 stars for exceptional service and the store, in general, 3 stars for falling below global LV standards; therefore, my rating is an average of the two. LV's global brand is synonymous and has set a benchmark for luxury. Globally, LV is unprecedented for its stellar customer service and helping to facilitate a memorable shopping experience that is idiosyncratic to the brand to the extent that its trademark is synonymous with the commercial notion of luxury. Therefore, in accordance with these rigorous standards, the expectation for customers is that each experience is remarkable and special. Cody has exceeded our expectations by locating very specific goods that we wanted and in serving as our personal LV ambassador. Since moving to Charlotte about little over 3 months ago, we have been to LV a handful of times and made three rounds of purchases through Cody. Each time that we went, LV did not have what we were looking for in stock and regardless of how little national inventory there was, Cody always finds a way to obtain what we want in very short order. NOTE: By design and to keep the demand and supply balance at a near equilibrium (this is the case for all luxury goods), LV does not mass produce their inventory so when you hear that there is a limited national supply of any given product, it is because they do not carry excess inventory. For example, we recently acquired a 3-pound Yorkie and needed a collar, leash and carrier for her. Although they were not in stock, Cody was able to locate them and have them shipped to the Charlotte store within a week or so. Cody has located high-demand, hard-to-find pieces. We are very tactile consumers; therefore, we typically like to touch and see something before we drop several hundred to several thousand dollars. We have been on the hunt for a briefcase, which Cody was able to locate nationally and bring in Store. LV recently released an entirely new line of suitcases, which are in high demand, low supply. Through diligence, Cody was able to locate the suitcase and reserve it for us (we haven't purchased it yet because we would like to see it in person first). Cody has been a superb personal LV ambassador. By going above and beyond to locate very specific pieces that we were looking for and for making the experience pleasant and fun, Cody exemplifies the hallmark LV standard of care. He contacts us periodically and provides consistent updates to ensure that we are in the know as far as new merchandise is concerned. LV of Charlotte gets 3 stars for falling below LV standards in the following ways: _ low inventory and small store. The size of this store is typical of metropolitan cities that have 2 or more LV stores within a specific radius, this size being the secondary store. It is surprising that this is the only store in all of Charlotte, given its size and low inventory. It is an exception (not the norm) to have something that we want in stock at this store. _ average customer service. The associates are friendly and helpful, which is what you expect from this caliber of luxury retail; however, they truly failed recently. We purchased a collar for our Yorkie, who was still a puppy and because the collar was too big, she was able to get to the strap while wearing it and chew on it. We decided to purchase a bracelet to use as an interim collar until she grew into her real collar, at which point I would simply wear the bracelet. Within 3 hours of purchasing the bracelet, our puppy was able to chew through the entire bracelet while it was on her neck because it was still too big for her. I was completely devastated! I brought the fully destroyed bracelet and partially chewed up collar back to LV (when Cody was not working) to see if they could do anything. After 5 minutes, a male associate informed me matter-of-factly that there was nothing that could be done. First, we are global LV patrons who have spent tens of thousands of dollars, globally. Second, at the Charlotte store alone over the course of 2 months, we have spent over $6k. Third, this is LV. If LV officially could not repair it, the store has a longstanding presence in Charlotte and presumedly, a repository of local customers. Something like this MUST have happened in the past. They could have said to me, "Although there is nothing we can do, we suggest that perhaps you try...X, Y, or Z but understand that these places are not affiliated with LV." As an LV customer, I should never be told, a flat, unequivocal no. That would never happen in Paris, Dubai, Hong Kong, Beverly Hills, or any other LV where we have shopped. The kind of response we received was antithetical to the image that LV propagates. Overall, we would only shop at LV of Charlotte because Cody has been a superb LV resource: 5 stars for Cody, 3 stars for the store = 4.
