My husband and I both had LASIK surgery by Dr Siems and we both had complications-could this just be a coincidence? I understand all medical procedures have risk but what bothered us the most is that Dr Siems never told just how bad my husbands eye was post operative. We gave Dr Siems over 8 months of post op visits and he just kept saying we would get better. In fact his optometrist Dr Affifi looked at us post op and she also never mentioned the seriousness of the complications. We finally got tired of the "wind" and got other medical opinions only to be shocked when we were told that my husband was very close to having irreversible blindness. We decided to get 2 more opinions from other ophthalmologists- one of the 2nd opinions was in Las Vegas and the 2nd was at Mayo and both recommended that my husband had to have immediate surgery to prevent permanent blindness-in medical terms it was called a corneal melt. I also had to have corrective surgery to fix my complication. So anyone considering LASIK surgery with Dr Siems - do your homework first!!
