I love the concept of social painting but this experience was not very good at all. The biggest problem I had was the venue. We were very crowded so that you feared dipping your brush in your neighbor's drink, couldn't avoid bumping them repeatedly and would not have been able to snack if you'd arrived hungry. The lighting in the tiny room at Salut kitchen bar was atrocious! There were just 2 bare bulbs on the wall which was far from sufficient for painting and people were holding up their cell phones to their canvasses periodically to shine light on them. The canvas we were provided also seemed very poor quality as it is loosely stretched. In the future I'll stick to byob painting at an actual studio.
