  • Surrender is like the envious little sister of XS. XS is everything Surrender wants to be: POPULAR... Surrender is the NEWEST club in Vegas that opened during the Memorial Day weekend. It's just as upscale and gorgeous as XS, but unfortunately, not as hyped so it doesn't bring in the crowds like XS does. My friends and I pretty much had our clubbing line-up laid out except for Fri (Thurs @ Tao and Sat @ XS). It was between Haze and Surrender, but after hearing that Haze is very cramped and plays house music, the decision was easy... On Fri, 7.30.10, my friends and I arrived at Surrender at 10:15 p.m. LINE: Unlike the 1-2 mile line at XS (no joke, it extends from Encore to Wynn), the line at Surrender was about 1-2 blocks long. COVER: *$20 for Girls *$40 for Guys There are free passes available for Ladies only. You can find them from the promoters lingering around The Wynn/Encore. DRESSCODE Dress shirts for guys, no shorts, tennis shoes, or flip flops. However, I don't think it was highly enforced as I saw girls walking around in flip flops and guys in t-shirts and chucks. But, it's always better to be safe then sorry, so dress accordingly. MUSIC: Better than XS. While XS plays Hip Hop, House beats gets mixed in which distorts the songs all together. Surrender plays more Top 40s and Hip Hop w/ occasional House and Rock. CROWD: Va-gi-gi FEST! The night we went, there were girls everywhere and guys were a scarce commodity. It's a very mixed and diverse crowd though; we even saw a Ross Perot look-a-like. :X BARS: 3 bars: 2 inside and 1 outside where the poker tables are at. BOTTLE SERVICE: Unlike Tao and XS, bottle service at Surrender is NOT a must to get in and have a good time b/c it's not cramped like Tao and not as hyped as XS. However, we opted to do bottle service b/c it made more sense considering the cover the guys had to pay (11 of them) and the cost of drinks. Normally, there's a 3 people/bottle requirement, but my friend knew the promoter there, so he was able to get in 14 of us. There was a 2-bottle minimum that night and bottles started at about $500. We got 2 bottles of Henny for $550 and w/ tax and gratuity, our bill was $1,264. STAFF/SERVICE: When you get bottle service, there's certain expectations you have and Surrender satisfied all of them. After being introduced to the staff, we were whisked away to our bed near the pool and were introduced to our VIP Hostess who was very friendly and attentive. Our bottles and chasers were promptly brought to our table and the first round of drinks was prepared for us. Throughout the night, our ice buckets and chasers were constantly filled and we were checked on numerous times. With bottle service, you also get your OWN security guard. Stacy was our security guard and she kept a watchful eye on our table to make sure others didn't pose any problems. There's also a safe underneath the bed to keep our belongings. A big plus for drunktards like myself that flings my bag, phone, and shoes all over the place. The bouncers were also very nice. I'm a couch dancer fueled by liquid courage. As I was dancing on the bed, security mumbled something to me. I thought he told me to get off our bed. However, he told me that dancing on the bed was fine, but apparently my top was falling off and he was just telling me about it. *embarrassed* AMBIANCE/DÉCOR: If you've been to XS, Surrender has a similar layout. It's a huge open space w/ the gorgeous pool and cabanas being the highlight. However, I agree with all the other reviews that Surrender is not really a "club". A "lounge" is a more appropriate term for Surrender b/c the dance floor is tiny for such a large club, and the majority of the space inside is taken up by the bottle service booths. So, if you're more a chill type of person and have the $$$$ to shell out for bottle service, Surrender is the place for you. Or, if you're an attention-whore, you can always hop onto the stripper poles near the booths inside, "work it" and hope that a Sugar Daddy is watching so he can "Make it Rain". BEWARE while walking between the zigzag layout of the pools. One wrong turn and you will be in the pool. One MAJOR BOOOOO: you CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT dance in the pool. Talk about being a tease. Before we left, my friend really wanted to jump into the pool. When she asked one bouncer, the news spread like wild fire and everyone was on their earpiece. So, unless you want to be immediately kicked out, do not step one foot or toe into the pool, not even in the "wading" area b/c your a$$ will get hauled out so fast you wouldn't know what hit you. (Fyi, Thurs nights are when you can go into the pool.) Although I had a blast at Surrender, it just didn't have that pizzazz that XS does. However, it IS worth checking out. And, if you do, make sure to go on a Thurs or Fri night, so you can save the BEST for last, XS BABY!
