| - In a world of large big box retailers and chain establishments, it is refreshing that there is still a market of business that is predominantly filled with smaller "mom & pop" type stores. Dry cleaners are certainly one of them and though there is a large chain in town that has many locations (Al Philips), there still seem to be more independently owned locations than there are corporate owned.
Oasis Cleaners is one of them and the people that own it, a very friendly older Armenian couple, work every day and most impressively, do all of their dry cleaning and alterations in house. No sending out the clothes to a centralized corporate owned facility, they handle each garment and do the dry cleaning or laundering personally, on site, using their own equipment. This is very respectable and alone is warranting of praise. Adding on top of that their extremely friendly and personable attitudes and demeanors and you truly have a home run.
The owner manager is a nice gentleman that remembers your name and takes care of you. Even offering to do minor fixes like button repairs and simple seam tear repairs free of charge. His wife does the alterations, and due to some personal medical issues, is no longer able to do more complicated alterations (like taking a jacket in), but is still able to do the basics like opening up or taking in pants, lengthening or shortening inseams, and basic sledge work. They also offer full service silk screening.
When it comes to a locally owned dry cleaner, I cannot recommend Oasis Cleaners more highly. They are a wonderful family owned business that I am proud to do business with.
