My boyfriend and I went to Pirata for dinner on a Saturday night. We made a reservation for 9 PM but honestly we didn't need to because there a few empty tables and seating at the bar.
For drinks, we had a Bruja ($12) and a Jenny's Tea Cup (~$14). Drinks were decorated very nicely with flowers and skull cups, etc. The Bruja was my favorite - much better than Jenny's Tea Cup.
We ordered the Coconut Shrimp ($14) as an appetizer. Its kind of pricey for an appetizer but I do highly recommend. The appetizer includes 4 large shrimp served on top of a mango chutney and topped with green curry sauce. I could do without the green curry sauce but that mango chutney was delicious!
For dinner, we ordered the Fried Fish Sandwich (~$16) and Jerk Chicken ($24). I repeat $24 for jerk chicken and it was not worth it. The jerk chicken just was not jerk-y in any way. It was prepared fried and then baked so it was crispy but did not have much flavor. The Fried Fish sandwich on the other hand was wonderful. The fish was Red Snapper and it tasted so fresh and well prepared. The sandwich also included radish and papaya salad which provided great flavor. I substituted the side of fried for Bahamian Mac & Cheese which was fine. It was spicy but nothing to write home about.
Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Pirata is a nice restaurant for a Caribbean dinner, however it is on the pricier side.
