| - Me and my family have been coming to Las Vegas for many years... We have stayed at a number of hotels on the strip: The Venetian, Palazzo, Aria, the Trump, etc... The one hotel we had not yet stayed at was the Bellagio... As it was for my birthday we decided to stay there because well... It's The Bellagio... It's supposed to be the epitome of luxury on the Las Vegas Strip.. As it is in the dead center...
Upon check in, we were happily greeted and check in was very fast and painless.. We went to the room which was on the 17th floor.. The room was adequate, decent in size, and on the surface it looked nice... However, upon further exploration we found that one of the closet doors was unhinged at the top which causes them to rub together and not hang evenly... The lamination on the top of the night stand was peeling up, and the bathroom molding clearly needs to be redone and the bathtub and bath fixtures were also very clearly dated.. One of the light bulbs in the lamp was out and there was this absolutely horrendous high pitched like squealing sound.. OH and to top it off there was DRIED VOMIT underneath the toilet bowl...
We first didn't even notice the vomit.. So, We called down to the front about the squeak where they proceeded to tell us they were going to send up security to check it out.. Which we were confused by... Once we noticed the vomit we immediately called down because that's just repulsive.. During this time we were getting ready to go out for the night and nobody had come up to our room for the squeaking sound nor the dried vomit... That was about a 45 minute period of time..
We then went out about 745 and got back around 130 in the morning... Upon our return the squeaking was still here and the vomit was as well. So, I called down to housekeeping where they sent someone up.. That took them about 25minutes to get to us... The man from housekeeping was very nice and after showing him he came in and began to try and clean the dried vomit off... He tried getting it off the toilet bowl he also mopped our floor twice and was here for about 15 minutes... The dried vomit did not come off the toilet, but I assume it's probably not easy to remove dried vomit that has been sitting on porcelain for an extended period of time...
All in all - we were underwhelmed and disappointed by our stay at The Bellagio.. The hotels lobby is still beautiful especially he blown glass ceiling.. However, this hotel definitely needs an update especially if they're trying to compete with other comparable hotels... At this price point you would NEVER expect to find problems like these in your room.
We will probably stick with The Venetian from now on, unless The Bellagio decides to have a renovation..

My sister and I stayed here again as a guest of one of the hotel managers to apologize for how awful our first stay was. This experience was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the first. The room was immaculate from top to bottom. Service was outstanding, and it was just a much better experience!
