| - It speaks volumes about this business and it's principal owner, Maria Bartolloti, that she isn't even interested in addressing her 1 star ratings.
Disgruntled former and current employees were posting about her and her business on facebook. Instead of working to address systemic issues, Maria got into a childish tirade about it and then took the page down. Employees that stay working for her must like the leadership, and also enjoy their shining moments when they're able to abuse the power given to them.
Maria Bartolloti is a smug and petty tyrant. Her business model relies entirely on high rates and charging owners and boards for their own information. You have to be ready to litigate for any response from her. The other posts are one hundred percent correct when they state that she disregards your bylaws.
She knows that suing the corporation will cost you money and you'll be paying percentage to her to defend your corporation from you. She knows it and loves it. She's truly found her calling and a niche where she can benefit the most from it. She's currently basking in the glory of the wild wild west, where, in Alberta, there is no governing body of Condominium Management companies or readily available dispute resolution process outside of the Court of Queen's Bench. RECA does not yet oversee licensing or discipline of companies like this and the changes can't come soon enough.
Don't support management companies that charge you for your own documents. The Condo Act allows for charging for the costs of copying the documents. It is not intended for companies to profit from you wanting information regarding the corporation that you own. Support good companies who have all documentation available electronically, and in most cases, for free.
To provide a set of documents to a prospective buyer costs almost $1000, it takes a long time, they only take cheques, and they "will call you" when it's ready.
Being forced to give one star is unfair to participants in this rating system. I please rate this business and if you're interested in a class action suit against New Concept and Maria mention it and I will get in touch with you.
* supplemental edit - if New Concept is your manager, get on your board as soon as possible
