  • We went to Todd's for my birthday, we came away very happy and will return in the future. I'd like to give 5 stars all around but because of a couple of technical hiccups, 4 is probably more accurate on the night we visited: We brought our own wine, Wednesday being free corkage night as long as it's not a bottle they have on the list. It turned out their list was pretty decent, and moderate prices, not the crazy markups quite common these days. We started with the dumplings, 5 or 6 delicious super thin wrapped pot-stickers with a soy dipping sauce. Yummo! Next the waiter happily split a Caesar salad for us. Not very big portions and fairly bland, but a good segue to the main course. My girlfriend got the New Zealand Blue Nose Bass in a light caper and artichoke sauce, hold the capers. Unfortunately the fish was a little overcooked, but as a meal with the veggies and mash it was still delicious. I got the "skirt steak on fire". I'm English, the hottest curries in the U.S. wouldn't even count as mild in England, but WOW, this skirt steak was HOT. It comes with chili fries with black bean sauce, sounds crazy but it works. Deeee-licious. However, I asked for it medium rare but it came out too rare, making some of the steak a bit stringy and tougher. I didn't send it back, but would probably go nearer medium next time. For dessert the birthday boy was given a free, but little, take on Tiramisu, an excellent end to a "Unique" meal. It's not so easy these days to find a chef willing to be creative and take a few risks. Not perfect execution on the night we went, but still plenty good enough for us to return.
