rev:text	This was my first time trying out Midwood Smokehouse. I'm a huge fan of North Carolina BBQ with the eastern NC vinegar based sauce. Service was great. I was seated quickly. The waitress asked if it was my first time visiting and went into detail about how they are known for their brisket, that they make all of their own sauces and dressings from scratch, and they have a special smoker. It was a Tuesday night so they also had a $3 special on all NC beers. I will say their drink menu was lacking and confusing. Instead of naming the specific beers they were on tap, it just named the breweries that they had beers from. We all know there are lots of breweries in charlotte with a wide selection of choices. It would have been beneficial to be able to see which specific beer they were serving from that brewery and a description. (Not everyone is super familiar with what each local beer brewed is) I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of coleslaw. You had a choice of which type of cheese you could put on your sandwich and I chose the pimento. You couldn't even taste the pimento cheese on the sandwich. It was my first time trying brisket and I won't be trying it again. It was served on a basic piece of toast. I only ate half the sandwich because it really was disappointing. The coleslaw was terrible. I really had high hopes for this restaurant and would like to go back and try something else but I just don't know if I will since there are other BBQ places I have already tried that I know are better. I will say the waitress was fantastic and the food was served promptly. If I go back and try something else I will update my review. Until then, I wouldn't recommend this place.
