Lunch or brunch in Vegas can be a hard thing to come by. Most of the places I like to eat are only open for dinner and most hotels push their mediocre, expensive buffets for lunch or brunch.
Bouchon is a good option for brunch, located in the Venetian. Friends we're staying at the Venetian for a conference and due to timing we decided to have brunch at Bouchon. I was able to make a reservation on OpenTable day of and the hosts were nice enough to seat our friends and allow them to order before we arrived. We were running late so this was quite helpful.
The menu is classic French bistro with a mix of breakfast and lunch items. I've been to all the Bouchons at this point, from Yountville to NYC to LA, and have a good knowledge of the menu.
The chicken and waffles are a staple and served with a vanilla butter. Rich, sweet and salty, this is the best chicken and waffles I've ever tasted. The Cobb salad is also solid with thick pieces of crispy bacon, hard boiled egg and chicken.
I was looking for something light, so I ordered their shrimp cocktail. It's one of my favorite shrimp cocktails due mostly to the dijonnaise that accompanies it. Four large peel and eat shrimp are served with cocktail sauce and you need to request the dijonnaise.
Our friends ordered the goat cheese salad and the tartine of the day with truffle fries. The truffle fries were the most overpriced item on the menu and were not very good. They charge $10 to add truffles to the fries. The goat cheese salad is quite simple with a plain chicken breast on the side.
Other staple options include their omelette and croque monsieur.
Their breakfast pasties are excellent but we were keeping it light so skipped those this visit.
Expect to spend around $25 per person for lunch before drinks.
