| - To catch your attention...this place has some outstanding food!
Some friends invited me into their group of once a month dining at international restaurants in the Madison area. They had not been to an Indonesian restaurant, it was my month to pick and Bandung was our destination!
Bandung is not a large restaurant, but there is plenty of space. They have a bar area in which you can socialize, grab a drink, and even eat a meal is you so desire. We had a group of 14, so I picked a Monday night and made a reservation. When we arrived our table was set in place and they did not rush us from the bar area to sit, which is nice.
The food: fantastic. We all like to try something different (hence the group picking different nationalities each month for dining) and not a single person had even a minor complaint about the food. I ordered the Satay - Kambing which is skewered lamb marinated and grilled, topped with a sweet peanut sauce served on a bed of Indonesian rice cakes
(lontong) witha side of cucumber salad (acar). It was all delicious. Not spicy at all, and not too sweet. I am not a big lamb person, but this was great. And the cucumber salad was amazing too. I did order the Lumpia (spring rolls) for an appetizer and they were okay, but not great. I know the person next to me got the Krakatau Shrimp and loved it as well.
The service: again great. With a party of 14, it is difficult to serve everyone at once, but they did a fine job getting us the food together and while it was still hot. Our drinks were consistently filled or re-ordered.
I will be going back to Bandung some time and sooner versus later.
