| - My boyfriend and I were returning from our Minnesota road trip and stopped off in Vegas for a bite. Paymon's was opened late and Greek food is appealing to me at any hour of the day.
The cafe side was closed, so we went through the lounge area to the left of the cafe. It was darker? inside than it was outside so upon entering, I had to give my tired eyes a moment to adjust. A door to the left led to a hookah bar. No one was there to greet us so we grabbed a table in the dining room and waited. A server came in from the back to hand us menus and water.
The menu had a lot of vegetarian options, which included three or four pita sandwiches, but I decided to go the deconstructed route and got the vegetarian platter. It came with hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves, tabouli, four falafel balls, and a generous serving of seasoned fries. Additionally, there were three dipping sauces and warm pita bread. Everything tasted fine until I got to one of the dipping sauces. There was an odd, sharp flavor to it and took two tries before realizing something had spoiled. I didn't bother to ask for a replacement because I figured they would give me another scoop from the bad batch.
Service was good. I had to request a water refill, but after that our server came by frequently to top us off. It was so dark inside, I'm sure it was difficult for him to spot an empty glass.
