  • As I've mentioned in one of my previous reviews, Vietnamese cuisine is an extremely competitive sector in Calgary. So, how do you stand out? Being in a food truck is definitely a good way. But let's not forget that there are always a number of places immediately nearby, in this city. So with that in mind... I had the BBQ pork vermicelli. The springs rolls were top class, maybe one of the best I've had. Very dense. The pork was well seasoned but could use more char. There was also a disappointingly sparse offering of of bean sprouts. The bowl made up for this with excellent vermicelli. Not the best, but quite good. It was also unfortunately quite stingy on pickled carrots and cucumber. I would have liked to see more of those, to give the bowl a nice sour bite. It was otherwise somewhat bland in comparison. Carrots and bean sprouts would have brightened it up substantially. The total cost was $8, which is run-of-the-mill for this type of food, but maybe even slightly on the high side given some of the stationary competition's quantities. I would still recommend you check it out, particularly if you're in a rush and there are no good Vietnamese walk-ins nearby. The staff is very friendly, and the cooks are fast and efficient. A must-have in a food truck.
