| - I used to like Ross Park Mall a lot more than I do since I moved back to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago. I'm not sure exactly what happened. It just feels like I can't afford to go into most of the stores there, but I'm sure that's actually not the case. It just feels like it is.
And a feeling can sometimes be enough of a put off to keep me away.
It seems as if the same stores I remember being there after a six year leave of absence are still around, but the last few times I've one in there, I got nothing but maybe something from Auntie Anne's or the food court and then just decided to go somewhere else entirely to do some shopping.
It's still a nice mall, although I never did care for the parking there, despite the huge lot. And getting stuck on McKnight Road on the way up is never fun. I really wish there was a secondary way of getting there, but alas this isn't the case, and as everyone knows McKnight Road can turn into a snarled mess whenever it feels like it.
But looking at other reviews here, the higher end shops are what attracts a lot of the shoppers who love this place. It just seems like it was less skewed toward that demographic a while back, but perhaps I'm wrong and just had a bit more expendable income at the time. I certainly didn't have a ten year old kid then!
At any rate, Ross Park Mall is a nice place to visit. If you're a more middle of the road shopper like myself, you might find yourself doing more window shopping that actual purcahses. Not that that's a bad thing. But sometimes a man and his money must go their separate ways.
