  • Beware of the $75 ceiling installation special. When the electrician arrived, we were told that the total would be nearly $300 because we needed a new box for the fixture, and we were already supplying the fan! Maybe a new box would have been the best thing, but not for $300! This is an item you can get at the hardware story for $5-$10. We had to refuse the service and I installed the fan myself, and it's just fine. By comparison, we just had another company install a new garbage disposal for $285 including a brand new unit, which seems reasonable since it involved both electrical and plumbing work. Mr. Electric might have done a good job but we will never know because of the outrageous charge they were proposing. So watch out for this bait and switch, and don't be afraid to say no once they are in the house.
