| - We are a retired couple living in an over-55 community in Mesa. On December 16, 2016, we contracted with George Brazil for the installation of a replacement garbage disposal. The service rep arrived on time, showed us the different units to select from, and installed the disposal to our satisfaction. He told us in advance the cost -- $680 -- and we signed an agreement prior to the installation. After the installer left it occurred to me to look up the cost of our new garbage disposal on Amazon. I was shocked to learn that the cost was just $205. That means my wife and I were charged $475 in labor costs for the one-hour installation of the disposal. How could this be? Is it possible that we were targeted because of our age? I guess it was our fault for not checking the price of the disposal on Amazon before going forward with the replacement, but we thought George Brazil was a trustworthy company. Long story short, I called George Brazil to complain and their phone rep, Josh, finally agreed to lower the price to $355, a reduction of $330. Josh was not happy to make this settlement, however, and the last thing he said to me before concluding our conversation was that George Brazil will never do business with us again. That's so insane -- it's us that will never again do business with George Brazil. All in all, a very troubling experience.
