Don't use these guys unless you like spending lots and lots and lots of money!
We had an issue with our AC and called these guys out. After a short while the tech came back in and told me that there was a part that needed changing. They then began to up-sell me telling me there were other items that should be replaced, "capacitors" apparently. OK maybe they were needed but lets address the main issue first. Then they continued with the sell trying to get me to take out an annual maintenance contract ($290) so I would save money! If I signed up then and there I would get a discount on my service. BTW we have 2 units and they suggested we do both to save time... To add insult to injury when I looked at their quote they gave no discount at all for the 2nd unit, come on guys you are here already right!
Our AC was working although not optimally so I decided to say thanks but no thanks and check around. BTW their suggested maintenance was going to top $1500!
I did some research and called around, finding out some very interesting facts. Bottom line the parts they were suggesting came to just over $100. Wow this must be a huge job to make up the difference in labor. I had somebody else come and do the work and they just left having taken approx 45 mins to do everything.
I get that there are overheads in running a business but trying to charge more than $1500 for $100 worth of parts and less than an hours work, come on folks who do you think you are kidding.
P.S. The Capacitor scam. These guys suggested I have 2 capacitors per unit replaced totaling approx $800, yes thats $200 each. Prices can vary but the items for my unit were $10 and $20 respectively. I watched as one was installed and it took less than 2 minutes. If you have an issue with an AC capacitor make sure you call around and check out the parts cost. I found folks charging even higher so don't get caught out.
