Good food, good service. My wife had the shrimp cocktail, the shrimp were good sized and well cooked with a horseradish tomato sauce. Nothing special but definitely nothing wrong with it. I had elk chile balls. These were an excellent set of three meatballs with a terrific chile sauce that made me want to lick the plate. For entree we had beef tenderloin stroganoff and rainbow trout respectively. The stroganoff was cooked with peppers that added a nice bonus touch to a well done traditional dish. The trout was fresh, nicely filleted and grilled.
Service was attentive and friendly without being invasive. Cartwrights Is a big place and was busy, as in full, on Friday night but we never felt rushed or like the staff was stretched. It's a bit noisy but even though I have trouble with my hearing I wad able to hear and converse just fine. Cartwrites is definitely worth a visit.
