  • If a person is not used to this type of supermarket setup I can see why they probably wouldn't like it. Winco doesn't go overboard with fancy decorations or props or anything else. They keep it simple. Yes you bag your own groceries, big deal. Everything in the store is clean, fresh and reasonable prices. They are able to keep the prices down because they do not accept credit cards, but do accept debit cards. Comparing them to Walmart is a joke. They blow Walmart out of the water on prices, and service. If Sam Walton were still alive I assure you his company wouldn't be ran the way it is today. It would still be run like a Costco... The moment he passed they began their downward spiral. This is very comparable to an Aldi style supermarket. If you want to save real money, don't mind bagging your own groceries (sorry lazy, spoiled people) want fresh items, at a great price, don't mind paying cash or using a debit card, then this is the place. The bulk foods and spices section is completely awesome as well.
