| - My first and fave night spot in Vegas! The first time I arrived happened to be on a summer time Sunday Nightswim with Major Lazer. I went with an LA friend who had been here a couple times previously. He took care of my ticket (I found out later it was $40 for me, $60 for him at the door!) after waiting 45 mins at the door. I was never even aware there is such a thing as a promoter, must call one next time!
Once we breezed in around 12:30 it was fairly packed, and we were dressed up. It was really odd to be in line all dressed up next to people wearing swim trunks and mesh shirts LOL but once we were in I understood why, there's a huge pool open on Nightswim nights! (I still wouldn't have dressed up in pool attire though no telling what disease you might come out of that pool with, not to mention spilled drinks, possibly vomit from people who pregamed too hard, etc.)
Went straight for the bar next to the exit to the outside. Took us a few minutes of waiting behind a guy who was rolling hard and grabbing beers before we were served by a cute Asian bartender. Beautiful. She got our stuff to us in no time. Shots of tequila here go for $15 each, with mixed drinks $17+ but hey, when in Vegas. We smiled and paid and got to the outside area with our mixed drinks for the last sets of the DJ.
By the time I finished my White Russian everything was perfect. Sure it was crowded right in front of the DJ booth but we could easily be at the front. The lights, the music were amazing and the crowd was vibing. Major Lazer came on along with his bootyful go go dancers to a blast of fire and lights. We stayed until 3:30 right before they closed for the night.
What I recommend wearing in the summer: ladies, it gets hot outside so if you're going to be outside, dress accordingly. A nice skimpy dress with manageable heels shows you off best and leaves room for dancing. Hair up might keep you from sweating but that's on you. Gentlemen, a dark button-up perhaps (no ties) because you will have women wearing fifty shades of makeup rubbing against you accidentally while you/they move through the crowd. If you want to wear the shirt again, make it a dark one, but not black because you'll look like a bouncer. Slack color is up to you. Nice comfortable shoes. And loosen up, you're at a club, talk to women if you like, don't just stare, we don't bite. The best opener is a smile, if she smiles back, ask her how her night is going.
After coming here a few more times my advice to you: pregame before going in, keep your stuff to yourself, if you're a female bring a larger purse if at any time you feel like you may dip your feet into the pool. So many heels ruined by being shoved to the side where they are stepped on while owners are drunk dipping their feet in the pool to cool down. If you find a wallet or personal item abandoned or on the ground bring it to the front, everyone you ask will lie and say it's theirs. When going with drinks in the crowd (especially a couple shots in each hand) put them high above your head so nobody spills them and people see you coming. I recommend not swimming during crowded night swims unless you trust every party goer intimately. Stay away from those who are rolling unless you're one of them lol. The bar inside serves much faster than the one outside, with friendlier bartenders too. And lastly call a promoter goddammit nobody should spend that much on cover and drinks!
