You're paying for the atmosphere, not the food. I was itching to try this place but never had the time until now. The building itself looks very nice, inside and out. One would think that this might also be indicative of their food.
Unfortunately, the building itself is where the amazing impression ends. Looking through the menu, you're immediately faced with a very lack luster range of choices. The menu is dominated by burgers and sandwiches. The features (non-burger/sandwich options) aren't that great either. You might expect more grilled meats/seafood but there were only a few options.
As for the food I ordered, I had the grouper. It was decent tasting but not well portioned.
This restaurant suffers from a distinct break from its name. Burntwood Tavern alludes to an offering of great grill classics like steaks, grilled fish, etc. but the menu speaks a different story.
The service was also average.
