The work of this place may cause the serious accident and the salesperson lacks commercial honesty as well.
My car is VOLVO XC70 2007.
A couple of days ago my wife found the rear left tire of the car was flat.
So, I drove it to the Discount Tire to repair the tire.
The salesperson recommended to replace it with the new tire along with the rear right tire and I accepted his advice.
The replacement was done in an hour and I confirmed the tire pressure was 36 psi.
I drove it back home for 6 miles and I noticed the TPMS warning 'Tire pressure very low' came on. I checked the tires and found the rear left tire was deflated but not entirely.
Next morning I found the tire was completely flat and I had to drive it to the Discount Tire again and claimed to replace it.
The work was done in about 30minutes and the other sales person explained the tire was repaired not replaced and air leak was caused by the old TPMS, implying it's not their fault.
As I had a serous doubt about his explanation so I compared two receipts.
First, I found on the first receipt the description 'SCH 20009 TQ40 RED TPMS RBK BASIC KIT 20009'.
This means TPMS rebuilding kit was replaced with the new one and what salesperson said 'the aged TPMS caused the air leak' was false.
Next, I compared it with the second receipt and found 'SCH 20010 TQ40 RED TPMS RBK BASIC KIT 20010' was installed replacing the '20009'.
The difference between 20009 and 20010 is that 20009 is not compatible with VOLVO XC70 while 20010 is compatible with the model.
Finally I would have to say the mechanic lacked due professional care on what might lead to the serious accident and sales person lied to me knowing that the cause of the flat tire was their fault. He also must have known that that mistake might cause a serious accident.
I'll go to COSTCO next time.
