First stop on my indie passport! After reading the reviews, I expected a little it more.
The cafe is cute for sure - great decor, nice bathroom...though less than comfy chairs.
Pros
- offering vegan and gluten-free treats. I had the hot chocolate cookies, which was delicious. That they have vegan/gluten-free treats is the only reason I am giving them 3 stars. Otherwise, I would only give them 2 (see cons below).
- decor was quite nice
Cons
- soy/almond milk is $.60!!! are you kidding me??? that is inSANE! Who do they think they are??
- homemade almond milk was clearly flavoured with almond extract. It was way too almond-y. I make my own almond milk and the natural flavouring is lovely. I want a coffee, not an artificial almond flavoured beverage.
- latte was super small (especially given it was over $4 after the $.60 of almond milk!)
- espresso was NOT good.
- they don't carry the raw cheesecake year round! i was quite looking forward to it.
Overall, not a huge fan. I'd give in another try when there is raw vegan cheesecake available and will try a regular coffee, but it will not be a place I frequent. I definitely refuse to pay almost a dollar for soy/almond milk!!
