| - This hotel is in the middle of a complete remodel. None of the interior pictures are accurate anymore.
We booked on Priceline, so we had no idea we'd be staying in a hotel currently under construction. However, besides some confusion when we enterered and some dusty cooridors, we weren't bothered by the work going on.
The rooms are beautiful. They are brand new and the design is impeccable. Hubs described the bathroom as "gleaming."
Pros: Beautiful decor, brand new everything, mounted magnifying mirror in the bathroom, and really good music playing in the lobby. Even the little cards around the room are lovely.
Cons: No free internet, except in the lobby at the hotel computers.
At check-in, hubs wasn't asked what type of room we wanted our how many keys. We got one key and a room with two double (not queen) beds.
The room smelled very perfumey when we walked in.
I had to go up two flights to get ice. The ice machine on our floor was still in the box, just sitting next to the Coke machine. The next floor up the machine was out of the box but apparently not plugged in and still had plastc film on the face. By my third try, this little Goldilocks was able to find an ice machine that was installed, plugged in and churning out ice.
The information booklet in the room doesn't list the pool hours or the internet situation ($6 per day).
We paid $50 on Priceline and I think it was a great deal.
When this place is finished, it is going to be amazing. They have a temporary lobby right now and their "gift shop" is two bookshelves of snacks and bottled water. It's 20 minutes from downtown or 45 minutes if you're heading to a Friday night Pirates game.
